Thromboembolism: This is not from a DVT but a de novo clot in the ivc? At 16, it is unexplainable. It still has to be treated with anticoagulant so as not to be thrown into the lung to cause pe. If accessible area, a filter may have to be placed to prevent embolism. After all that, a reason for its development has to be worked up with a hematologist and maybe rheum if necessary.
