At least 1 exposure: The exact number is not known. Some children develop anaphylaxis seemingly on the first exposure of eating something. In these cases, the child was likely exposed via skin contact or absorption of the antigen. On the other hand, adults who have eaten a specific food for many years without symptoms, can develop a food reaction!
