May not be connected: Dilated aortic root issues are frequently genetically driven and not acquired, one important exception being uncontrolled hypertension. In any event, some literature suggests if your root is dilated then isometric exercise may be deleterious; in which case, emphasis should be upon aerobic conditioning. Please make sure your BP is under good control, and have your aortic root reassessed frequently
