Can you tell me, are people healthier now than people 100 years ago?

Not really: Healthy has many definitions. Living longer, living better for example. People lived to the same life span hundreds of years ago than today. More people now reach 100 than ever before because of advances in successfully battling infectious disease. Really not any other advance accounts for this rise in elderly reaching "golden pond".
