Seek an opinion: The best way to know is to seek an opinion for an orthodontist. The new patient exam usually includes radiographic examination for developing teeth and pathology. Some practitioners do not charge for a new patient exam. You can find a local orthodontist through the american association of orthodontists. www.mylifemysmile.org/.

Ask orthodontist: In a free consult (which is typical) your local orthodontist can discuss the need, and timing for braces along with costs, financing, expected results, etc. I would schedule with one (or even 2 to get a second opinion).
