Dr. Michael Cari

Doctor Cari grew up in the Lehigh Valley, the second of four boys. He attended Lehigh University, receiving both a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Upon completing his studies there, he followed his passion for automobiles joining Chrysler’s product development team in Detroit in the exclusive Chrysler Institute program. There, Doctor Cari was responsible for developing and integrating new technologies and control systems in the powertrain area. When Daimler-Benz and Chrysler merged, his responsibilities broadened to include Mercedes-Benz products. His work during this time resulted in him earning several patents on engine and transmission control systems. He enjoyed the challenges of his position, but possessed a strong desire to help others and to work with his hands. Due to these desires, he returned to school (with the encouragement of his friends and family) to pursue dentistry, with the ultimate goal of orthodontics. He felt that his background was a natural fit for the mechanical system of orthodontics, and could blend his background with his personal touch. He returned to Pennsylvania to attend Temple University’s School of Dentistry, earning his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD), orthodontic specialty certificate and an M.S. in Oral Biology. While at Temple, he used his engineering background to investigate the shortcomings of the Invisalign™ system and conventional braces to get better results in less treatment time, but more importantly, he found a great fit for his energy and passions in his new career as an orthodontist. Although an engineer, Doctor Cari prides himself on open, easy communication with his patients, and promotes a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in the office. He has a passion for what he does, and loves to build personal relationships. He lives outside of Media with his wife, Christie, his son, Sam and daughter, Holly. He enjoys renovating their old home, restoring cars, and spending time with his wife and children.
