Have ENT evaluate: There are different causes for that fluid collection, including ear trauma, perichondritis, and relapsing polychondritis. If this is a fairly recent development, having a board certified otolaryngologist (ENT) evaluate and possibly drain it may prevent future cosmetic deformities on the ear. Otherwise this collection could cause chronic inflammation eventually resulting in a cauliflower ear.
