Depends on degree: Of nerve compression and how long it happened. Normally, if sensation below the level of a spinal cord injury is affected and has not returned in the first year, it is commonly permanent. Spinal cord injuries and prognosis is a very complex issue though and it is difficult to say with limited history. Hope that helps!
