Tested 7.6 tsh on 1st blood tst & low t. only given androgel. tested 3mo later & tested 4.4 tsh & .7 or .8 free t. was given synth 50mcg. is this ok?

Hypothyroidism: Dependeng on reference range in laboratiry those numbers do seem to correspond with hypothyroidism for which your doctor has initiated thyroid hormone replacement appropriately so. Low t is very common and AndroGel is an effective replacement therapy.
