Musculoskeletal pain: Coughing can cause musculoskeletal pain, including what you describe. Also, if the cough is due to a viral infection, musculoskeletal aches and pains can be part of the viral infection. There are many causes of cough including acute bronchitis, bronchospasm, gerd, post-nasal drip or a combination of factors. If your cough persists, see a doctor for diagnosis/treatment.
