Low Carbs Diet: Low carbohydrate diets when combined with low calorie eating and exercise are very successful in weight loss. I believe many of us here would point you to the south beach approach and away from the atkins approach as a more sound scientific and successful process for real and lasting weight loss. Your carbohydrate intake should not be more than 25% of your total calories to find success here.

Complex; Yes ; No: Life not simple. Low fat diet not healthy. High fat, of natural origin, moderate protein ; very low carb food choices most consistent with best health long term. Atkins promoted lots of protein not a problem, but it can be. Safer is more fat. Specific food choices ; quantities always a make-it or break-it issue. Thus high fat, mod. Protein ; all complex carbs from fresh vegetables-add butter, etc.
