Many reasons: Low vit d in the blood work could be from many reasons, lack of sun exposure, low dietary intake, disease of the parathyroid glands, liver disease, kidney problems and other please check it out. Thank you.

Low intake : Usually due to lack of vitamin d in diet, sometimes due to malabsorption.
