CBT, medications: For mild fear your family doctor may give you tranquilizers to take during the flight. These are safe & effective if used only occasionally, for a specific purpose. Severe fear is better treated by a short course of cognitive behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy), and/or systematic desensitization (the therapist teaches you to gradually approach airplanes while staying relaxed).
