Tmj: In general no, however given your 2 arthroscopies i would ask my treating dentist or surgeon to double check as i cannot see your occlusion nor do an examination. Perhaps you could wear it less ie only at night or only during the day? So ask your dentist or surgeon.

Monitor: Long-term splint therapy can cause changes in occlusion, tooth alignment, jaw joint function. Your status needs to be monitored regularly. If changes were induced by the splint therapy, intervention by an orthodontic specialist may be warranted.
