Hand/foot rash: Not many things cause rash in little kids that involve the palms and soles. The most likely answer is that he has contracted hand/foot/mouth disease, which is a viral illness that affects mainly kids under 5. It is a little unusual time of year for this illness, but we do see cases year round, so it's not improbable. This illness runs its course over 3-5 days, and can also involve fever and mouth.
