Why worry?: During my forty years as a physician, I have seen essentially no evidence that high triglycerides by itself is a risk factor atherosclerosis, independent of obesity and lack of exercise. It's mostly genetic. If you need to get back in great physical shape, do so. Otherwise I suggest you just maintain good health like other sensible people. The sample was fasting, right?

Need more info: If you are overweight, lose weight (easier said than done). Cut down, if not eliminate your intake of saturated fats. Reduce your intake of carbohydrates, Exercise at least 150 minutes/week, If that does not help, see a doctor for prescription medication. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually.
