More than you think: 9 out of 10 chondrosarcomas are slow-growing and never spread to other parts of the body. They can be cured and most never come back. 1 out of 10 chondrosarcomas are faster growing and spread to other parts of the body. It depends on the "grade" of the tumor: for a grade 1 tumor, 83% of people are alive in 10 years. For a grade 2 tumor, 64% and for a grade 3 tumor, 30% are alive in 10 years.
