Get to a dentist: You will not alleviate the pain by taking otc medications. You need to get to a dentist asap. It sounds like you need root canal therapy or an extraction. Prescribing medications has to be done in conjnction with a thorough health history.

Common ones are: Advil, motrin, aleve, (naproxen) or what you normally take for a headache. Then call a dentist and get an appointment asap to get that tooth repaired, if possible. It sounds like you are way overdue for a dental checkup.
