Several: 'burning' knee pain without any injury may be caused by tendinitis( patellar, quads, it band etc.) or from kneecap (patellofemoral) cartilage wear most commonly. See your orthopedic surgeon if your pain continues for examination. Best of luck!

Many causes.: It could be arthritis, soft tissue inflammation or a meniscal tear, just to name a few possibilities. Any of these could cause a burning sensation within the knee. See am orthopedic knee specialist, who can get to the root of the problem.
