What would cause rt burning knee pain to wake me up in the middle of the night. pain is relieved with extension but brutal to get to so. no injury.

Knee pain: Several possibilities and this requires a good physical exam followed by imaging to make a probable diagnosis. I would suspect a patellar and/or tendon issue more than an intra-articular problem. See an orthopedist. It will probably only get worse if you try to ignore it.
