Yes: A displaced meniscus is when one of the cartilage discs in the joint flips up on itself and this can create locking, catching, pain, swelling and a sense of instability exacerbated with twisting and turning. These symptoms warrant an evaluation and possibly an MRI to confirm the diagnosis.
