Left forearm hurts. right handed. no injury or overuse. duration 1 year. had physical therapy. heat/cold no help. what can i expect from doctor visit?

Full exam: I expect your md will carefully inspect and palpate your arm and order imaging studies of the forearm.

Check muscles/nerves: You will need your neck looked at to make sure nothing is being referred from your neck such as a pinched nerve. The physician will also check other nerve structures such as your brachial plexus and possibly even your median nerve which can cause pain in the forearm. You will also need strength and range of motion testing in your upper extremities. I hope that helps!
