Masseuse comments: Should only be taken for what they are, literally. Your muscles were tight to that person and that is all that it means. Tension contributes to such conditions but in the absence of physical findings or injuries, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. And if you are concerned, see your local doctor for a more formal evaluation.

Your back could be: Hard as a rock if you are a weight lifter. Trigger points can also make areas of the back hard. Many people with anxiety disorders, do however, carry tension in their upper back and neck. See you suffer from depression, ; fatigue and take clonazepam. Massage and acupuncture are two ways to deal with muscle tension related to anxiety. I wouldn't worry about the comment - but do use it to motivate.
