Not in 1st trimester: Flagyl is safe in pregnancy except for the 1st trimester (1-14 weeks) when there is a slight risk to the pregnancy. Speak to your doctor, you might be able to switch to a vaginal gel (metronidazole gel) instead of the oral form. However, bacterial vaginosis also causes an increased risk of miscarriage, so make sure this is treated.
