Likely will pass: Any severe pain that continues or worsens should prompt you to see a physician for evaluation. Most likely its an issue with what you ate and drank - could be reflux (which you have)and irritation of your esophagus, but could also be a piece of food that has become lodged/stuck. You could have an ulcer acting up. Even rupture of the esophagus can happen, but is usually more severe.Slow down ; chew.
