Possibly: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist. It can be aggravated by keyboard work as you are describing and is usually characterized by pain or numbness that radiates into the thumb, index, and middle fingers. A detailed exam can usually tell if this is your problem or if it is something else. Thank you.
