A member asked:

Is it possible for humans to get toxoplasmosis from pet birds? (not eating) or at least from other animals besides cats? any reported cases?

No, yes: Cats are the only definitive hosts for toxoplasmosis, which means that the parasite only produces eggs (oocysts) in a cat, which can be excreted to the environment. Other animals, including humans, can be infected but don't excrete eggs. Eating an animal infected with toxoplasmosis can transmit the disease.
