A member asked:

Why am i told by pharmacists that generic of placid is exactly the same as the original drug. they are compounded differently and cause problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Active ingredients : Are the same, but inactive ones (fillers, dyes, etc.) can be different. For some people this does make a difference in how their body reacts to the drug and can even cause allergic reactions. Talk to your doctor about any adverse reactions you are having. They may be able to write out your prescription so it is only filled with the brand name medication.
