A member asked:

Pharmacists what is safety of generics made in asia if approved by cms?

Ok, except sometimes: Medicare part d drugs must be approved by the fda for sale in the us and available only by prescription, so are generally safe. Pharmacists get their meds from a network of distributors, so sometimes counterfeit or lower-quality meds illegally enter the supply chain. It is more likely to happen from asian factories, but counterfeiters are clever and can disguise where meds are originating from.

Generics: Fda is the final authority to approve and monitor generic medications. Fda vouches for same efficacy, dosage, actual content of the drug conforming to the us pharmacopeia. So they should be safe.
