Tonsillitis: You really need to see an ENT physician and have this examined. If you are still having this much purulent discharge there is a potential need for surgical drainage. Go soon.

Safe: If you are able to push the pus out that is OK and there is not a danger in swallowing it. However, if you are still feeling ill after 5 days of antibiotics I would see an ENT to have him/her drain the abscess ASAP.
