My almost 3 yr old son has a total of 4 styes (2 on each eye) (large). can multiple styes be linked to any childhood diseases or conditions?

Not really.: Styes are infections of one of the tiny follicles from which an eyelash grows. It is caused by bacteria common on the skin of children. They are unlikely to be the result of any underlying disease.
