A good idea: Many minor wrist sprains can lead 2 a fracture of the navicular. Many times it will b more evident on an orthopedic exam, then x-rays may or not b done. True early images of occult navicular fractures r not positive, but if an orthopedic surgeon feels strongly about the findings a cast 4 +/- 2 wks.And then new images with the cast off will show the fx.Due 2 bone absorption in the perifracture erea.
