A member asked:

Can ultrasound differentiate fat ball and tumor in kidney?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: "fat ball" is the familiar angiomyolipoma. A lipid-laden renal cell carcinoma may mimic it. Ask your physician about the radiologist's level of confidence and whether to obtain tissue for study.
