Essential: The earlier appropriate antibiotics are administered, the better the chances of survival. You can't treat sepsis without them.

Sepsis: Sepsis indicates an infection that has spread throughout the body. It can arise from a variety of causes. The treatment of choice is antibiotics, as well as fluid and electrolyte support while the infection resolves. The antibiotics must be chosen depending on which bacteria is the source of the infection and the susceptibility of that particular bacteria to the antibiotc prescribed.
