Not really: Just be careful about the therapist you choose. There are a ton of untrained lay therapists who do not understand medical or psychologic disorders. Without proper training, a bad therapist can certainly cause harm. In untrained hands, no therapy is safe. That is why doctors spend so many years in school and have to maintain licenses where they practice.
