Fusion SIJ: Two of my patients had IC symptoms resolve after their hypermobile sacroiliac joints, SIJ's, were fused. My theory is that IC is an autonomic nervous system disorder caused by irritation of the presacral plexus parasympathetic nerves, which overlie the SIJ, & which are irritated by abnormal hypermobility & range of motion of an SIJ, which is often found in women with Joint Hypermobility Syndrome.
