True: Some ocular surface disease is severe enough to damage or destroy cells that can renew the tissues. Amniotic membrane provides coverage, infection resistance and a supply of basic cells to help the tissue that is damaged to regenerate. This is a relatively new and exciting improvement in the care of what formerly were poorly treatable conditions.
