You probably can't: Varicose vein disease is largely genetic. You may be able to minimize the disease and/or slow progression by staying active, avoiding high heels, and staying slim.

Prevention of veins: Many things can decrease the severity of varicose veins & their symptoms. But if you are genetically prone to varicose veins you will likely eventually develop them despite all prevention methods. Compression stockings are most useful & they should be worn daily when you are on your feet. Maintaining normal weight, exercising, avoiding prolonged standing, & leg elevation helps. Pregnancy worsens.
