Retinocsopy, : First of all the prescription of your eyes is determined before dilation by doing a refraction. The test where you tell the doctor which lens is best one or two. There is a way to tell what your prescription is with your eyes dilated, called retinas opt. This is how glasses can be prescribed to pre verbal children.
