Depends on cause: Getting rid of an earache involves treating the underlying problem. It can be caused by something in/around the ear or, more commonly, referred from somewhere else. This is commonly from TMJ issues. A persistent earache in someone who uses tobacco is especially worrisome as it could mean a tumor in the throat. An evaluation by your doctor or an ENT will help.
