A member asked:

How can tricuspid insufficiency affect blood pressure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unusual association: The tricuspid valve is the valve between the right atrium and the right ventricle. Even in normal hearts and normal circulations, echocardiography can detect tricuspid insufficiency. It would be unusual for isolated tricuspid insufficiency to affect blood pressure unless the severity of the leak was so high that it affected the heart's ability to maintain a normal cardiac output.
