A member asked:

Is it true that an occlusal adjustment is the same as braces?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bad information: Orthodontic treatment puts teeth and jaws where they belong for function, esthetics, and stability. Occlusal adjustment is a surgical procedure where malposed teeth are reshaped to eliminate interferences. It doesn't correct improper tooth position. Sometimes adults with badly worn teeth need both repositioning and re shaping for optimum occlusion.
