Solution choices: Depends on cause of heavy bleeding. Need evaluation (exam & blood tests), and sonogram. Besides wearing double protection (tampon + pad) there are non-surgical options which include: birth control pills. Lysteda (non-hormonal rx taken during period), and the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud.
