A member asked:

Expert opinions? which is stronger, hydrocodone or tylenol (acetaminophen) with codine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No such thing as: "stronger." it is a misnomer to talk about strong and weak opiates, although doctors do this too. It depends on dose and side effects. Codeine is relatively impotent - takes 30 mg to equal 5 mg of hydrocodone, but at those same doses they do pretty much the same thing. However, Codeine has way more potential for side effects, especially at higher doses, so it is more poorly tolerated over 60 mg.
