A member asked:

Please answer! what would happen to you if your suprarenal glands were destroyed or removed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Multiple problems: The adrenal glands have critical roles , through the production of important hormones , like cortisol which is essential for life , and others controlling fluid and electrolyte balance. So their destruction or removal would cause serious lowering of blood pressure , abnormal electrolytes, infections, hormonal imbalance and even death, without adequate, timely replacement of the hormones.
