Adrenal glands: Biology textbooks attempt to inform and educate people about many subjects. Whether you feel concerned about the facts you learn is a different matter. In any case, the adrenal glands are needed for survival because they secrete hormones and neurochemicals that allow animals (including humans) to deal with stress. Without these, life is not sustainable -- unless all hormones are taken daily.
