Never!: Most wise yoga teachers do not want you to "push" a pose when it pains. This may vary slightly depending on the location and type of pain. Instead, they encourage you to pay attention to your body and breathing, and move up to the point of resistance -- and maybe just a little past the point you feel you "can" do. If in pain, you back off. Get a seasoned yoga teacher ; make aware of your pain.
