Usually not: In general, GI doc can not detect cancer of the pancreas by doing an endoscopy. You will need imaging study like ct scan dedicated to pancreas or MRI to visualize pancreas. Sometimes, however, if the pancreatic mass has invaded the upper part of the duodenum -an upper endoscopy can reveal the mass and biopsy of the mass can confirm the diagnosis.
