I had a root canal/temporary crown done today. they put the retraction cord in & left it in is that typical?

Not Really...: While it is possible for the retraction cord to be left, this is not the ideal or desired result. See your dentist to make sure it is all gone and let him or her know that this happened. Hope you feel better soon ;-).

Crown: Generally they remove the cord before you leave. Try to remove it if you can and call the dentist that did the crown as they will likely want to check the area. Do not leave it in as it will irritate the gum tissue.
