Yes: You should get a permanent crown on soon after the root canal to try to protect and preserve the tooth. The temporary crown for long term use and is not as snug fitting and is not designed for long term use.Crown.

Only if...: It's only bad if you mind losing the tooth. Temporary crowns are just that, temporary. They are not designed to last more than a very short time. Greatest risk is leakage of the sealing material between the cap and the tooth, allowing bacteria to get under the crown and destroy the tooth. Please see your dentist asap.
